Fifteen years on Via dei Mulini

I opened the shop in 2011, a room the size of a garage on Via dei Mulini, three streets above the beach. Forty linen shirts at twelve euros each, cut to last more than one summer. People came back two summers later in the same shirt and asked for trousers to go with it. Then for loafers. Then for something warm, so we learned cashmere and merino. The website came much later.

This year I turn 68. My son works in Turin, my daughter teaches in Naples, and neither of them wants the shop. I would rather close it myself than sell the name to someone who would change the cloth.

So this is the last season. Everything left is half price, in every size still on the shelves. There is no new collection and no restock. When a size sells, it is gone.
